Premier League - Arsenal vs. Bournemouth - prediction, team news, lineups

May 4, 2024

Arsenal can’t afford to drop any point, especially when they are so close to winning the Premier League title. They will welcome Bournemouth to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday with the hope of extending their lead at the top of the table.

Arsenal will enter this match after a 3 - 2 win against Tottenham last week while Bournemouth also secured a 3 - 0 victory over Brighton.

Statistics

Arsenal have encountered 2-game consecutive losses against Aston Villa and Bayern Munich in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League to be eliminated from the tournament.

However, they are back and better — boosting 3-wins in a row against Wolves (2-0), Chelsea (5-0), and Tottenham (3-2) in the Premier League campaign.

Arsenal's available option to win a trophy this season now lies in the Premier League campaign but to do so, they will need to win their remaining games with the hope that they may overturn Manchester City and extend their lead at the top.

Arsenal's performance has been extraordinary in the last 3 games. Understandably, they are now focused on the Premier League campaign, as they have been eliminated from other campaigns — this may give them an advantage in the title race over Manchester City who’s participating in other tournaments at the moment.

Arsenal’s hope will be for Manchester City to drop a point in any of the remaining games. With Liverpool losing a couple of points in their last games, Arsenal don’t have to worry about them – especially when they continue to extend their winning streak!

Bournemouth seems to have found a way back to their winning ways by winning 2 of their last matches against Wolves (1-0) and Brighton (3-0).

Bournemouth is in the 10th position and well out of the relegation zone with 48 points in the last 35 games. However, they are still 6 points behind the top 6 and have less luck of making it to the Europa Conference League qualification spot.

Dominic Solanke has put up a great performance in the last 2 games for Bournemouth, but he hasn’t been lucky enough to convert his chances which is troublesome for the team. Just as we experienced last week against Brighton, he wasn’t lucky but Enes Una, Marcos Senesi, and Justin Kluivert came to the rescue to score goals.

In the 5 meetings with both teams, Bournemouth has secured a draw while Arsenal has won 4 out of those 5 games.

Team news

Arsenal doesn’t have any injured players – ACL victim Jurrien Timber is fit and has participated in two matches with the Under-21s.

As for Bournemouth, they will have to play without the services of Romain Faivre, Tyler Adams, Chris Mepham, Milos Kerkez, Luis Sinisterra, Marcus Tavernier, Ryan Fredericks, Philip Billing, and Ilya Zabarnyi due to injuries.

Arsenal's possible starting lineup:

Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Trossard

Bournemouth's possible starting lineup:

Neto; Smith, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kelly; Ouattara, Cook, Scott, Kluivert; Solanke, Unal

Arsenal vs Bournemouth betting tips:

  • Both team to score

  • Over 2.5 goals
